14 Topics

Academics, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers are invited to contribute to the AAAP 2026 Congress. The program covers 14 scientific topics, including Animal Genetics and Breeding (ABG), Animal Nutrition and Feed (ANF), Animal Physiology and Reproduction (APR), Animal Heath (AHL), Pig Science (PIG), Poultry Science (PLT), Ruminant Science (RUM), Other Animal Species (OAS), Animal Products Science (APS), Animal Environmental Management (AEM), Digital Management and Smart Farming (DSF), Household Farming (HSF), Companion Animal (CPA), Animal Welfare (AWF).

Animal Genetics and Breeding (ABG)

This session highlights cutting-edge genetic technologies, particularly genomic selection, to improve productivity, resilience, and product quality. It also emphasizes the conservation of valuable indigenous genetic resources and climate-adaptive breeding strategies to support sustainable livestock development.

Animal Nutrition and Feed (ANF)

Key discussions focus on precision nutrition to enhance feed efficiency, reduce production costs, and lower environmental footprints. The session prioritizes solutions to reduce dependency on imported feed ingredients, promote local alternatives, and valorize agricultural by-products through innovative feed technologies.

Animal Physiology and Reproduction (APR)

This session explores physiological mechanisms and advanced reproductive technologies to improve fertility, reduce culling, and strengthen herd performance. Special attention is given to adaptation to heat stress and changing environments, supporting high productivity in tropical and subtropical livestock systems.

Animal Heath (AHL)

The session addresses cross-border animal diseases such as African swine fever (ASF) and emerging avian influenza strains, with a strong focus on advanced biosecurity. It also promotes the One Health approach and strategies to reduce antimicrobial use and mitigate antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Pig Science (PIG)

This session focuses on rebuilding pig production systems after disease shocks and strengthening high-level biosecurity in modern farms. Key topics include optimizing sow productivity, integrated herd health management, and improving efficiency through coordinated advancements in genetics, nutrition, housing, and disease control.

Poultry Science (PLT)

Discussions center on sustainable poultry production, improving egg and meat quality, and strengthening disease prevention and biosecurity. Particular emphasis is placed on poultry and waterfowl systems unique to Asia, alongside innovations that reduce emissions and enhance food safety for domestic and export markets.

Ruminant Science (RUM)

This session examines strategic development of tropical beef and dairy systems, with special focus on productivity and climate adaptation. A major scientific priority is reducing enteric methane emissions, supported by innovations in feeding, breeding, and farm management aligned with Net Zero pathways.

Other Animal Species (OAS)

This session addresses processing and value addition for livestock products including meat, eggs, and milk. It emphasizes food safety, hygiene, traceability, and quality assurance, along with innovations in processing technologies that enhance competitiveness, consumer trust, and market access.

Animal Products Science (APS)

This session addresses processing and value addition for livestock products including meat, eggs, and milk. It emphasizes food safety, hygiene, traceability, and quality assurance, along with innovations in processing technologies that enhance competitiveness, consumer trust, and market access.

Animal Environmental Management (AEM)

Key themes include waste management, odor control, and environmental impact reduction in livestock farms. The session focuses on biogas technologies, circular resource use, emissions mitigation, and practical tools for greener livestock development in line with sustainability and Net Zero commitments.

Digital Management and Smart Farming (DSF)

This session explores the application of AI, IoT, and Big Data to optimize farm operations, animal health monitoring, and real-time decision-making. It also discusses digital transformation in livestock governance, enabling data-driven management, increased productivity, and reduced costs across value chains.

Household Farming (HSF)

This session focuses on sustainable livelihood models and value chain linkages for smallholder farmers, a key feature of livestock systems in Vietnam and many Asian countries. Topics include farmer organization, cooperative development, extension services, and scalable technologies suitable for household-level production.

Companion Animal (CPA)

Reflecting the rapid growth of Asia’s pet sector, this session covers veterinary science, nutrition, health management, and emerging market trends for companion animals. It also discusses professional standards, services, and policy considerations to support responsible development of the pet industry.

Animal Welfare (AWF)

This session discusses animal welfare standards in farming, transport, and slaughter in alignment with international guidelines. Beyond ethics and product quality, welfare compliance is increasingly linked to technical trade barriers, supporting deeper market integration and sustainable livestock production.
