The Animal Husbandry Association of Vietnam (AHAV), together with the Organizing Committee of the 21st Asian-Australasian Association of Animal Production Societies Animal Science Congress (AAAP 2026), is intensifying nationwide academic outreach to mobilize scientific expertise, strengthen research collaboration, and encourage broad participation from Vietnam’s leading universities and research institutes. AAAP 2026, which will take place in Hanoi in October 2026, marks the second time since 2008 that Vietnam has been selected to host this prestigious regional livestock science event, underscoring the country’s growing role and reputation within the Asian-Australasian scientific community.

In recent months, AHAV leaders have conducted an extensive series of working sessions with 17 universities and research institutions across the country, such as: Vietnam National University of Agriculture, the National Institute of Animal Science, Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City, Thu Dau Mot University, Vietnam National University of Forestry at Dong Nai, Can Tho University, Tra Vinh University, An Giang University, MeKong University, Vinh Long University of Technology and Education, Tay Nguyen University, Hung Vuong University, Hong Duc University, Nghe An University, Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and the International Livestock Research Institute , Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Vietnam Institute of Animal and Veterinary Sciences…
These meetings focused on consolidating scientific resources, fostering collaboration, and preparing high-quality scientific contributions for AAAP 2026. As noted in the original document, discussions emphasized “consolidating intellectual resources and fostering collaboration in preparation for AAAP 2026.”
During these sessions, university leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting AHAV through scientific research, human resource development, expert networking, and the submission of high-quality papers to the congress. Many institutions also expressed readiness to support communication activities, organize academic events leading up to AAAP 2026, and facilitate the participation of faculty members and students in the congress’s scientific programs. The proactive engagement of AHAV’s leadership has already generated clear and positive momentum. Several universities have shown significantly increased interaction following the visits, with Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho University demonstrating particularly strong responsiveness and early preparation for scientific contributions.
Across the working sessions, discussions also highlighted emerging trends shaping the future of animal agriculture, including digital transformation, high-tech livestock production, farm data management, traceability systems, production automation, and circular economy models. These themes are widely recognized as essential for enhancing productivity, operational efficiency, and the global competitiveness of Vietnam’s livestock sector.
In parallel with domestic engagement, AHAV is expanding cooperation with international organizations such as ILRI to broaden expert networks, access cutting-edge scientific advances, and create more opportunities for Vietnamese researchers to engage with the global scientific community.
The series of engagements with universities, research institutes, and international partners demonstrates AHAV’s proactive and well-structured preparation for AAAP 2026. More importantly, these initiatives contribute to building stronger linkages among research, education, and industry, supporting the continued modernization and international integration of Vietnam’s livestock sector. As preparations progress, AHAV and the AAAP 2026 Organizing Committee call upon academic and industry partners across Vietnam to contribute scientific papers, participate actively in congress activities, and join hands in ensuring the success of AAAP 2026 in Hanoi.
The Organizing Committee plans to visit VinUni, Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, and several other institutes and universities in the coming period.
