  • The Asian-Australasian Association of Animal Production Societies (AAAP) was founded in 1980 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by eight charter member countries: Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, and Thailand.
  • Today, AAAP has expanded to 19 national member societies, representing a broad scientific community across Asia and Australasia.
  • The Association plays a central role in advancing animal science, promoting innovation, and strengthening collaboration among researchers, universities, research institutes, and industry partners in the region.
  • AAAP’s mission is to promote efficient, sustainable, and science-based animal production through academic exchange, scientific publications, and international cooperation.

About AAAP Congress

The AAAP Animal Science Congress is a prestigious biennial international conference rotating among AAAP member countries. Since its inception, the Congress has been held 20 times, becoming one of the most influential scientific events in the region.

About AAAP 2026 in Hanoi, Vietnam

The Animal Husbandry Association of Vietnam (AHAV) will host the 21st AAAP Animal Science Congress (AAAP 2026) in Hanoi from 28 to 31 October 2026, with over 1,500 delegates expected from more than 30 countries. The Congress theme is “Sustainable Animal Production.” The Organizing Committee of the 21st AAAP Animal Science Congress is led by the Animal Husbandry Association of Vietnam (AHAV), in collaboration with:

  • Universities and research institutes in animal science and veterinary medicine
  • Government agencies and technical departments
  • Industry partners and international organizations

The Committee is responsible for scientific programming, logistics, sponsorship, communication, and coordination with AAAP member societies worldwide.

The Animal Husbandry Association of Vietnam (AHAV) is the national professional organization representing scientists, experts, universities, research institutes, and enterprises in the livestock sector of Vietnam. Since joining AAAP in 1992, AHAV has actively contributed to regional scientific collaboration and previously hosted the 13th AAAP Animal Science Congress in 2008. As the official host of the 21st AAAP Animal Science Congress in 2026, AHAV is committed to delivering a high-quality international event that reflects Vietnam’s scientific progress, innovation capacity, and growing role in the global livestock community.
