Symposium on Operationalizing One Health in Southeast Asian livestock systems: From field-based models to regional scaling
Background
Livestock systems are vital to food security and livelihoods across Southeast Asia, yet they face interconnected challenges involving zoonotic diseases, food safety, antimicrobial resistance and environmental sustainability. Addressing these challenges requires moving One Health from policy commitments to practical implementation and sustained collaboration.
This symposium will share field-based One Health experiences from Viet Nam and Lao PDR, alongside approaches to livestock waste management and disease risk reduction. Through technical presentations and a panel discussion, participants will explore the partnerships, capacities and investments needed to institutionalize effective approaches and scale them across Southeast Asia.
