Dr Robin Rahul Achari

Talk title:

Dr Robin Achari is the Global Technical Manager at Bioproperties Australasia Pty Ltd, a role in which he provides technical support and applied research leadership across more than 75 countries, working at the intersection of field diagnostics and vaccine-driven disease control in poultry health. His work centres on reducing reliance on antimicrobials in poultry production by advancing the strategic use of vaccines to manage disease at a global scale, translating scientific research into practical, on-the-ground solutions for producers and veterinarians worldwide. Before joining Bioproperties, Robin held a series of senior operational and technical leadership roles across the poultry industry. As Chief Veterinary Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways in Fiji, he held national-level responsibility for veterinary oversight and animal health policy. He subsequently served as Head of Livestock and Logistics at Rooster Poultry in Fiji, overseeing production and supply chain operations, before moving to Australia to take up the role of Chief of Operations at Red Lea Chickens, where he managed broader operational strategy within a major commercial poultry enterprise. Earlier in his career, he served as Head Breeder Veterinarian at Inghams Enterprises, one of Australia’s largest poultry producers, focusing on breeder flock health and reproductive performance. Alongside his industry roles, Robin holds significant professional leadership positions: he is President of the Commercial Poultry Veterinarians Special Interest Group of the Australian Veterinary Association, and a Member of the Avian Health (Poultry) Chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. This trajectory — spanning government veterinary oversight, commercial production operations, breeder health management, and now global technical leadership in vaccine science — reflects a career built on applied, field-tested expertise in poultry disease control at every level of the industry.
