Talk title: Current Status of Genomic Studies on Korean Native Chickens

Professor Jun Heon Lee, PhD is a Professor of Animal Molecular Genetics and Dean of Research Affairs at Chungnam National University, Republic of Korea. He received his PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Sydney, Australia, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA. His research focuses on animal genetics and genomics, particularly major histocompatibility complex (MHC) diversity and disease resistance in poultry and livestock, genome-wide association studies for economically important traits, and the application of artificial intelligence in animal breeding. He has published extensively in the fields of animal genetics, breeding, and immunogenetics, and has contributed to numerous national and international research collaborations. Professor Lee has actively served the scientific community through the International Society for Animal Genetics (ISAG), and hosted 40th ISAG conference in Daejeon, Korea, as the Chair of Local Organizing Committee (LOC). He currently serves as Section Editor (Animal Molecular Genetics) for Animal Bioscience. Throughout his career, he has held several leadership positions, including President of the Korean Society of Animal Breeding and Genetics, President of the Korean Society of Animal Science and Technology. At the 21st AAAP congress in Hanoi, Vietnam, he looks forward to establishing new international collaborations and strengthening scientific partnerships that advance genetic research, innovation, and sustainable livestock production.
