As part of the 21st Asian-Australasian Association of Animal Production (AAAP 2026), the Genesis Biosciences Symposium will examine the economic and biosecurity challenges facing Vietnam’s poultry and pig sectors as the use of low-cost preventive antibiotics comes to an end.
At the symposium, Dr. Daniel Gruenberg, Commercial Director at Genesis Biosciences Sdn. Bhd., will share insights into economic losses associated with enteric diseases, mortality, and feed efficiency. He will also discuss the potential of bacteriophage-based biological solutions for pathogen control, with a view to supporting sustainable livestock production and strengthening export competitiveness.
According to the symposium overview, the session aims to clarify the economic impact of disease on livestock production and explore how biological solutions can help control pathogens, reduce reliance on conventional antibiotics, and meet increasingly stringent biosecurity requirements.
Through this session, experts and delegates will gain further insights into the potential of biological approaches to improve production efficiency and enhance the international competitiveness of Vietnam’s poultry and pig sectors.
The Genesis Biosciences Symposium will take place from 14:10 to 15:30 on October 30, 2026, in Room 7: 252, 2nd Floor, National Convention Center, Hanoi, Vietnam, as part of AAAP 2026. For more information: https://aaap2026.org/genesis-biosciences-symposium/
