As part of the 21st Asian-Australasian Association of Animal Production (AAAP 2026), Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health, Asia Pacific, will host a symposium exploring advances in animal health, disease resilience, and nutrient utilization in livestock production.
The symposium will take place from 14:00 to 15:30 on 29 October 2026 in Room 7 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, Vietnam. The programme will focus on two key topics: research into the use of algal beta-glucan alongside PRRS vaccination and the application of protease enzymes to improve protein utilization.
Exploring Algal Beta-Glucan in PRRS Vaccination
Vannie Wan, DVM, Technical Service Manager, Kemin Animal Nutrition & Health, Asia Pacific, will present the topic “Algal Beta-Glucan in PRRS Vaccination: A Strategy to Improve Piglet Survival During the Weaning Period.”
The presentation will discuss research evaluating the use of algal beta-glucan alongside PRRS vaccination, with a focus on supporting piglet health and survival during the weaning period.
Applying Protease Technology to Improve Protein Utilization
The second presentation, delivered by Dr. Gurugirijha Rathnasamy (Giri), Innovation Lead / R&D Manager, Kemin Industries, will address “KEMZYME™ Protease: Transforming Protein Utilization Through New Insights into Antinutritional Factors.”
The presentation will examine the role of protease enzyme technology in addressing antinutritional factors, improving protein digestibility, and enhancing nutrient utilization in livestock.
Through these two presentations, the symposium will provide updates on emerging research directions and technological approaches in animal nutrition. The topics will explore ways to support piglet health during weaning, improve protein digestibility, and enhance the utilization of protein sources in animal feed. The symposium will also offer scientists, industry experts, and businesses an opportunity to exchange knowledge, learn about scientific advances, and explore their potential applications in livestock production, with the broader goal of improving production efficiency and supporting sustainable animal agriculture.
